With the new Hearthstone expansion just about two and a half weeks away from release, we have plenty of reason to be hyped for the new cards and mechanics. With some really well designed cards being included in the new set, we can expect some great months of Hearthstone with fun deckbuilding options with these flavorful cards!

1) Grimy Goons

Though the Grimy Goons cards are powerful, no doubt about that, they stack up on the same theme and leave a little to be desired. Paladin has been the only class to get all of their class cards revealed so far and their set look particularly promising on paper. Mid Range Paladin just might be back in the meta with their biggest gripe of bad early game being somewhat fixed in this expansion. Quite a bit of Warrior and Hunter cards are yet to come out as Grimy Goons had the weakest spoiler week with very few interesting cards outside of Paladin.

The Grimy Goons legendary, Don Han’Cho, isn’t the most exciting card in the expansion. But used correctly, it has the potential to cause some massive damage! (13/13 King Krush anyone?!)

2) Kabal

Priest’s set of cards have been impressive as well so far with AoE effects, potions and minions to push Priests higher up the tiers. Paladin got some great card draw in form of Small Time Recruits and aggressive early game and buffs. A Zoo style Paladin deck might not be a thing of fantasy anymore. The highlander style legendaries that are being pushed for the class involves more intricate deckbuilding instead of just jamming 2 copies of every ‘auto-include’ card in decks. It is by far the flashiest group and it’s only unfortunate we did not get to see the Warlock legendary.

Inkmaster Solia, Kazakus (the Kabal legendary) and Raza the Unchained are among the flashiest cards so far and they have really raised the bar in their reveal week. With just a few more days of reveals to go, Jade Lotus cards have to be really impressive to one up the Kabal’s army of potions and highlander style gameplay!

3) Jade Lotus

Blizzard mildly suggested that the theme is going to have to do with ‘secret armies’, and we got quite the surprise – Jade Golem is a new mechanic that allows you to summon Jade Golems that start at 1/1 and each time you play a card that summons a  Jade Golem, the golems get bigger and bigger. Aya Blackpaw’s (the Jade Lotus legendary) raw stats broken across three bodies are quite powerful even without other buffs. The snowball effect of the mechanic is potentially really strong but we need to see what other supporting cards the gang gets to fully ascertain the power level of the Jade Golem mechanic. With just a few Shaman, Rogue and Druid cards revealed, there is a lot more to come out way this week, which is being dedicated to the Jade Lotus gang.

The expansion is set to come out sometime early December. Going by the pattern of past releases, it always happens on Tuesdays and 6th December is the most likely date for release. We hope some freshness is injected into the meta and new archetypes come out. So get yourselves by the hearth and prepare for what is to come! Which gang are you on?!
